Kia Soul: Radiator Removal and Installation

1.	Disconnect the battery negative terminal.

2.	Remove the air duct (A).

Separate the filler neck (A) from the radiator upper member assembly.

Tightening torque :

7.8 ~ 11.8 N.m (0.8 ~ 1.2 kgf.m, 5.8 ~ 8.7 lb-ft)

4.	Disconnect the radiator reservoir hose (A).

5.	Remove the hood lower latch. (Refer to Body (Interior and Exterior - “Hood Latch”)

6.	Remove the front bumper cover. (Refer to Body (Interior and Exterior - “Front Bumper Cover”)

7.	Remove the head lamps. (Refer to Body Electrical System - “Head Lamps”)

Remove the radiator upper member assembly (A).

Tightening torque :

6.9 ~ 10.8 N.m (0.7 ~ 1.1 kgf.m, 5.1 ~ 8.0 lb-ft)

9.	Disconnect the cooling fan connector (A).

10.	Remove the engine room under cover. (Refer to Engine And Transaxle Assembly - “Engine Room Under Cover”)

11.	Drain the coolant. (Refer to Cooling System - "Coolant")

12.	Disconnect the radiator upper hoses (A).

13.	Disconnect the radiator lower hose (A).

Disconnect the automatic transaxle fluid (ATF) cooler hoses. (A/T only)

(1)	Disconnect the ATF cooler hoses (A).

(2)	Separate the ATF cooler hoses (A) from the holders on the cooling fan assembly.

15.	Remove the air guards (A).

16.	Separate the condenser from the radiator. (With A/C)

17.	Pull the radiator (A) upward and remove it from engine room.

Remove the cooling fan assembly (A) from the radiator.

Tightening torque :

4.9 ~ 7.9 N.m (0.5 ~ 0.8 kgf.m, 3.6 ~ 5.8 lb-ft)

19.	Install in the reverse order of removal.

20.	Fill the radiator with coolant. (Refer to Cooling System - "Coolant")

21.	Start engine and check for leaks.
